In short about me
My name is Matthäus (Matthew) Parshchikov. I was born in 2006 and I’m based in Cologne, Germany. I study earth sciences at the university of Bonn.
I collect minerals from exclusively post-Soviet countries. I photograph minerals professionally since 2023, initially to access a wider, more beautiful variety of specimens to show the world. Now I’m fascinated by the people I meet, their mineral stories. Also, I love smiling customers.
My work has been published in multiple magazines like Rocks & Minerals, extraLapis, Mineralogical Almanac, Mineralica as well as the Munich Show 2024 themebook and you can see my photos in many more different places, like the advertisement banner for mindat.org in Mineral City and on flyers for the London and Paris mineral show.
I am also part of the social media and outreach committee at the nonprofit organization, Young Mineral Collectors, where I host the interview program “Under the Radar”.
